The new IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) report recommends meat consumption will have to be cut to reduce methane production to slow climate change - among the measures put forward by the report is the proposal of a major shift towards vegetarian and vegan diets. “The consumption of healthy and sustainable diets, such as those based on coarse grains, pulses and vegetables, and nuts and seeds … presents major opportunities for reducing greenhouse gas emissions,” the report states.
While Mt Barney Lodge does not plan to completely remove meat from our catering all-together, vegetarian options will be front and centre, and
meat will be a "flavour" in our meals .. not the main course!
To tick the local/australian/plant-based/palm oil-free and delicious "box" - we are excited to find another great product that is made locally on the Gold Coast, is made from at least 94% Australian ingredients, and it does not contain palm oil (unlike most other wraps). Best of all it is soft and delicious - look out for Classic Wrap - Diego's Authentic Foods. We discovered them in our local Boonah IGA.
